Architectural Request

Why does the HOA require approval?

HOAs require approval to maintain aesthetic cohesion and uphold community standards.

When do you need an architectural request?

You need to submit an architectural request to your HOA when you want to make any architectural changes to the outside of your home or property. This includes changes to the façade, roofing, landscaping, fencing, and more.

  • Adding a swimming pool, deck, or shed

  • Changing the siding, shutters, paint color, windows, or doors

  • Adding a patio or patio extension

  • Adding a fence

  • Adding landscaping with fire pits or retaining walls

  • Adding playsets or basketball goals

  • Changing the mulch

  • Removing live trees

What's the process?

  1. If you’re unsure what’s allowed, review your community's Covenants (listed below).

  2. Submit an architectural request to your HOA.

  3. Wait for the HOA's approval, which is usually 30-45 days.

Who reviews the request?

  • The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is made up of volunteer community members who serve on the HOA Board review and approve requests. Our current Architecture Review Committee Chair is Nancy Peplin.
