Pardon Our Sludge - The Greystone Lake Dredging

You may have noticed the muck and mess around the east end of Greystone Lake. Believe it or not, we are making some great improvements to the health and beauty of our natural space. The original project timeframe was supposed to be much shorter, but has faced multiple challenges including freezing weather, equipment breakage, and personnel shortages.

However, we are thrilled to look towards the completion of this particular project by mid-April. Of course, we have to stay flexible and keep our fingers crossed, but we sure look forward to saying farewell to the “swimming excavator” as the kids have fondly named it. The removal of all dredged materials will occur after the dewatering process is complete. We can’t wait to reseed the grass and restore our walking path to its former glory! Happy walking!

***Please keep all children out of the mud piles for their own safety! It’s terribly tempting to dig in and play on that mud mountain, but the varying densities make it a very dangerous place for our kids!***
